Many in the iGaming sector believe that in 2014, Platipus sprang out of nowhere. However, the casino game production studio’s quick rise to prominence and its audacious motto of “always aiming for perfection” may be credited to its three knowledgeable founders.
Before opting to focus their efforts on the social gaming market, the trio spent more than ten years developing and distributing online casinos to hone their business knowledge. As a result, sometime in 2011, Platipus Gaming SA was founded in Panama. Platipus released the Miracle Slots & Casino app on Facebook in December of that same year.
The business was then re-established on the Isle of Man as Platipus Ltd after three Dutch investors joined in February 2014. Martijn Peters, who had served as general manager for Totalgame before to this change, is now the CEO of Platipus. The move from free to real money online slots started with the company’s restructuring, which was ultimately decided upon in November 2015. The company’s 40+ highly skilled personnel who have experience in this field played important roles in the decision-making process, and the team hasn’t looked back since.
